Air filter must be mounted on the ceiling - Welding of a mobile and height-adjustable trolleyAlthough I have an extraction system for the wood chips, fine dust still gets into the air, which I now want to eliminate with an air filter.
This device sucks in air, filters it and blows it out on the other side. Normally one hangs such a device on the ceiling, but I wanted to remain flexible and if necessary bring the air filter also to another place, in order to clean the air with dusty work.
I want to build a frame on wheels, which I can also adjust in height. For this purpose, I have already cut the square tube profiles.
For top and bottom I have welded these 2 frames.
To be able to adjust it in height, I use two square tubes which fit into each other.
Everything is already painted and ready for assembly.
Onto the lower frame I mount a wooden plate. This serves to make the frame a bit heavier and more stable. Additionally it serves to put a foot on it while changing the height position of the air filter. For this purpose there are holes in the smaller square tubes and a 5 mm steel bolt which then hold the position.
On the upper frame I also mount a wooden board, where the air filter device is placed on.
This is how it looks finally - in this case the frame is in the lowest position.
And here it is in the second highest position (can go 30 cm higher). I was worried about the stability at first and did some tests. But I must say that the whole frame is very stable on the casters and I have no concerns that this could tip over.
Of course, it still needs a holder to wind the cable. I have deliberately mounted this with 2 cable ties and not welded, because I did not want to take the risk that the square tube in it could not be moved cleanly after welding.
Since the device has a remote control, I bent an aluminum holder for it.
Now everything is ready for the first use and with the unit switched on, the air is really cleaner now than it was before.
