Ford Model A pickup restoration - building various holders for rear-view mirrors, indicators, etc. (September 2014)I must shift (once again) :-( my planned driving on the road which I wanted to do this year. The whole September I was working on several small parts, I've spent more time than planned. It is not the manufacturing of the parts but what consumed my time was the planning, designing, customizing, and in some cases I had to go back to start position …
As already mentioned last month, I had to re-make the two rear mirror holder. I could reuse the angle but all the rest I had to make from scratch.
Welded and sanded the holder is looking much better than my first version.
These are some of the sheet metals I did roughly cut. I'll make some various fixtures and housings from it.
This is a first case …
… and these parts will be the brackets for the front turn signal, they just have to be welded.
The last weld is made, now I'll proceed with the finish.
In all these parts are waiting for sandblasting. On the right hand side of the picture you see my new turn signals which are hidden-mounted between the bumper. They are white LED turn signals and the orange color can only be seen when the light is blinking. It is a 6V flasher which are normally mounted on small motorbikes.
All parts are blasted, I just have to degrease them.
Now follows the powder coating and the parts from the trafficator will be made too. These parts I have blasted a long time ago and preserved from rust with WD40 spray. Now I have to clean and degrease them and start with the powder coating.
All parts are finished.
Now I just have to clean my garage …
