Ford Model A Pickup Restoration - Test with turn signals - Fabrication of flame screen for carburetor (May 2015)My tasks are a litte bit behind schedule since I have bought an electric unicycle. The buy and delivery from Hongkong was no problem but when I drove it, I touched the wall of a building that my collarbone did break - was really my fault the device is perfect… The problem is that I can only make easy tasks at the moment since I must protect the collarbone. Nevertheless the project continues, just a little bit slower than planned.
The interior is complete now.
The door bumper set does not fit for my car and I have to modify it.
It is quite a dirty task, but such a grinding wheel is the best for bringing rubber pads in a perfect shape.
Since I'm using this taillight only as a light for the number plate, I have made this aluminum plate that the light shines downwards only.
Now the 'Stop' lettering is better visible.
An old problem are my front indicators and this is now my 5th version but now it's the last and best one. The previously used 6V LED indicators were not usable with low voltage below 6 V since they had a very weak shine. Now I have found turn signals in the same size, white ones and are operated with yellow 21 W lamps. The light is super bright, even when the battery is almost empty. In the pictures left upper corner you see it when it is not in operation and in the main picture how bright the light can be.
This is a tea strainer which I bought at a major Swedish furniture store. Now I'm planning to make something special.
First, the 2 strainers are separated from the rest
You see now the final result in form of a bracket. I have used 1 mm stainless steel, drilled some holes, cuted it into the right shape and finally bent it.
The bracket can hold now my strainer.
I can now mount it to the end of a pipe and where do I have something like that on my Ford?
Of course, I need this as a flame screen for my carburetor so no flies will affect the performance of my engine. An air filter was not an option because the last 10 years of operation, my car had an open carburetor with nothing else.
